Purpose:

To:

 

(i)             Consider objections to the advertised proposals for parking controls at various locations within Bradford on Avon.

 

(ii)            Recommend the making of the Traffic Regulation Order with minor amendments to the advertised proposals.

 

Decision:

I approve that:

 

(i)            The restrictions be implemented as advertised, subject to the minor amendments detailed in Appendix 3.

 

(ii)           The objectors to be informed accordingly.

 

This decision was published on 14 August ‘17 and will come into force on 22 August ‘17

 

Reasons for the decision:

The comments set out in Appendix 2 on the various objections received indicate that it is considered appropriate to introduce the scheme with the minor amendments detailed in Appendix 3.

(i)         Implement the proposals as advertised.

 

(ii)        Not implement the proposals.

 

(iii)       Implement the proposals with amendments.

 

Other reasons / organisations consulted

As part of the Town Centre parking review the Town Council was consulted prior to the advertisement process. The Town Council also carried out its own consultation to understand opinions towards the proposed parking restriction prior to the official advertisement. The review resulted in 12 locations within Bradford on Avon being put forward to advertisement. 

 

During the advertisement period a total of 65 items of correspondence were received in response to the proposals contained within the advertised Traffic Regulation Order (TRO). Of the 65 items of correspondence received, 10 expressed support for the Council’s proposals, 45 objected to the proposal in its current form and 10 commented on.
