Purpose:
To:
(i) Consider objections raised in response to proposed waiting restrictions on Roundway Park, Devizes (Roundway Parish) (see Appendix 1).
(ii) Recommend the making of the Order.
Reasons for the decision:
Implementation of the proposed waiting restrictions will mitigate possible additional parking in Roundway Park resulting from the new school. The restrictions as proposed along with the additional extension (advertised separately) will ensure that the public transport service will be able to access the new bus gate/development.
Alternative options considered:
To:
(i) Implement the proposals as advertised.
(ii) Not implement the proposals.
(iii) Implement the proposals with amendments.
Other reasons / organisations consulted
At pre-consultation, all emergency services, public transport, Town and Parish Council, as well as the Local Member, were consulted. Full consultation included site notice allocation and advertisements in the local press.
