Performance Related Grant Scheme

The Wiltshire Councillors will consider 4 expressions of interest to the Performance Related Grants Scheme, as follows:

 

i)    Community Payback - to extend the scheme in terms of the range of services offered and also the reach of the scheme into more rural parts of the county

 

ii)  Hope Nature Centre – to provide an extension to the Hope Nature Centre facility

 

iii) Active Trowbridge – to provide gym equipment and monitors, a vehicle, and coaching discount to include parishes’ and nutritionist’s costs

 

iv) Extended Services – to provide a counsellor for Extended Services to all 23 schools in the Trowbridge Community Area.

The Chairman advised that there were three applications seeking Performance Reward Grant Scheme funding.

 

Steve Nash addressed the Area Board on behalf of Active Trowbridge.

Jayne Bullock addressed the Area Board on behalf of Extended Services.

 

The three applications were:

 

Community Payback - to extend the scheme in terms of the range of services offered and also the reach of the scheme into more rural parts of the county.

 

Decision

 

The Trowbridge Area Board endorsed the Performance Reward Grant application for Community Payback of £73,000.

 

Active Trowbridge – to provide gym equipment and monitors, a vehicle, and coaching discount to include parishes’ and nutritionist’s costs.

 

Decision

 

The Trowbridge Area Board endorsed the Performance Reward Grant application for Active Trowbridge of £32,740.

 

Extended Services – to provide a counsellor for Extended Services to all 23 schools in the Trowbridge Community Area.

 

Decision

 

The Trowbridge Area Board endorsed the Performance Reward Grant application for Extended Services of £20,000.

 

Note

Funding Distribution for 2010-11

The Chairman will lead a discussion to decide the way in which monies will be distributed over the 2010-11 funding period.

Minutes:

The Chairman had requested that Board Members consider the way in which monies would be distributed over the 2010-11 funding period.

 

Points made included:

 

  • Potential applicants for funding should be made aware at the beginning of the funding period that monies are approved on a first come first basis.

 

  • Monies should be split into either two or four tranches which would be made available during the funding period.

 

Decision

 

The Trowbridge Area Board would continue to award funding on a meeting by meeting basis, as per the 2009-10 funding period.

Community Area Grant Scheme

The Wiltshire Councillors will consider 3 applications to the Community Area Grants Scheme, as follows:

 

i)    North Bradley Peace Memorial Hall – request £993 for energy saving and security equipment

 

ii)  Friends of Trowbridge in Bloom – request £5000 for a participatory programme of events

 

iii) Hilperton Village Hall - request £3253 to upgrade toilets to include fitting of disabled toilet.

 

Total requested: £9246

 

TrowbridgeArea Board has been allocated a 2010/2011 budget of £77,592for community grants, community partnership core funding and councillor led initiatives.

Councillors were asked to consider three applications seeking 2009/10 Community Area Grant Funding:

 

Jan Williams addressed the Area Board on behalf of the North Bradley Peace Memorial Hall.

Jennifer Polledri addressed the Area Board on behalf of Friends of Trowbridge in Bloom.

Roger Hammond addressed the Area Board on behalf of the Hilperton Village Hall.

 

Decision

North Bradley Peace Memorial Hall was awarded £993 for energy saving and security equipment.

 

Reason

Community Area Partnership Funding

Doug Ross, Trowbridge Community Area Future, will present the partnership’s work plan for the year and ask the Area Board councillors to consider a funding request.

Doug Ross, Trowbridge Community Area Future, presented the partnership’s work plan for the year and asked the Area Board councillors to consider a funding request.

 

Decision

 

Trowbridge Area Board members agreed to allocate £20,022 of funding to Trowbridge Community Area Future, the monies would be allocated in two tranches of funding, each of £10,011.

 

Note

Cllr Clark resumed the chair, Councillors James MBE and Knight left the chamber and took no part in the debate or vote on this application.
