Minutes:

Cllr John Thomson - Cabinet Member for Communities, Campuses, Area Boards and Broadband and Laurie Bell - Associate Director Communities ? Communications, Wiltshire Council gave an update on the Pewsey Campus project.

Points made included:

·       That the budget for the Pewsey campus project was still in place.

·       Further work was necessary to ensure there was no duplication with existing facilities (eg Library).

·       Wiltshire Council was now discussing with the COB just what should remain in the project for it to remain within budget.

·       Could then go to tender.

Questions raised included:

·       Will the Police move into the Library?

a.Police now share Wiltshire Council’s IT and support, so it makes  sense to use Wiltshire Council buildings, like at Chippenham and Salisbury, the Library already has a meeting room and hot desking facilities. Further discussion will take place with Police representatives to determine the best location for the NPT based on requirements.

·       Would a revised Campus planning application have to go back through the planning process?

a.This would depend on the type of amendments to the scheme.

·       Have you any idea when things are likely to start happening?

a.As soon as there are any developments you will be informed via the Community Engagement Manager and Area Board. Updates will also be provided on the Our Community Matters website and Wiltshire Council website.

·       For the Campus to work for all of the Pewsey Vale community it needs good public transport links.

a.Wiltshire Council is looking at its bus routes to ensure that bus services are run in the most efficient way, some services are too costly to continue to run.

·       That the Pewsey COB had worked tirelessly on the Pewsey Campus project.

a.Cllr Thomson thanked the Pewsey COB for their hard work in continuing to push on with the Pewsey Campus project.

·       Pewsey Leisure Centre staff will need to be kept more informed of developments due to their customer facing role.
