The Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting. Councillor Mayes highlighted a special housing event and a ‘Bike It’ event coming up. The housing event would be held on 15 October 2012 at the Devizes Sports Club to inform and consult regarding the review of housing need and Wiltshire’s housing allocations system. The ‘Bike It’ event would be run by Devizes Community Area Partnership and held on 6 October 2012. It would be a cycling event for all ages to promote cycling in and around Devizes.    

Councillor Mayes explained that information was also available in the agenda pack about a ‘From Drought to Flood’ event being held on 17 October 2012 from 10.00 am – 3.00 pm at Warminster Civic Hall, street lighting savings, the state of the environment report, Wiltshire and Swindon Local Nature Partnership, barrier busting proposals, minerals sites in Wiltshire and Swindon, Victim Support, Police and Crime Commissioners and informal adult education.
