Petition Against Proposed Housing Development at Ridgeway Farm, Tetbury Lane, Crudwell

We the undersigned petition the council to refuse the planning application by Hunter Page for planning permission to build a housing development at Ridgeway Farm, backfilling onto the green field behind it.

The Ridgeway Farm site is made up of four agricultural buildings with associated yards and a Green field behind it.

Hunter Page and the landowners are seeking planning permission to build 19 houses on the Ridgeway Farm site, backfilling into the Green field behind.

The proposed development will over stretch local facilities including the primary school and pre-school. In addition, it will further exacerbate problems with sewerage and flooding from rain water on Tetbury Lane. The nearest amenities are a bus/car ride away. This will result in increased volumes of traffic on the narrow Tetbury Lane, putting pedestrians, young and old at risk.

The green field behind Ridgeway Farm, characterises the village, which is essentially an Agricultural community. To approve backfill development of this green field would set a new precedent for development of other green fields. We believe that Crudwell's green spaces should be retained as agricultural / green space land and preserved for the benefit of residents, visitors and future generations.

On reaching 100 signatures the head of the relevant department will be made aware of the matter.
