Amesbury and the surrounding areas are sadly lacking in
provision for young people and adults. Although there are 2 skate
parks (although sadly in need to repair), there is nothing for
young people or adults who do not like going to the pub every
weekend to do in the evenings. The nearest decent facility is Tower
Park in Bournemouth.
The development and building of large number of houses at Archers
Gate, Durrington, Tidworth and Old Sarum have massively increased
the population of South Wiltshire and particularly around Amesbury.
Solstice Park provides the perfect opportunity to develop an area
for leisure activities and the growth in population will sustain
such a facility.
The local council needs to do more for its youth population which
is growing at an exponential rate.
We believe this would be the perfect opportunity for them to do
something.
