Consultation process
Prior to the publication of the recommendations all the proposals were discussed with the former Wiltshire Safety Camera Partnership, as the enforcement agency at the time.
The review recommendations were provided to Parish and Town Councils in the form of a CD in December 2009 and additionally published on the Wiltshire Council website. This was followed by a period of consultation where Parish and Town Councils were given the opportunity to comment on the proposals. Where comments were received, a further review was undertaken taking the comments expressed into consideration.
During the initial consultation, both Bromham Parish Council and Rowde Parish Council commented on the review’s recommendations. The majority of the comments received were resolved following the consultation period. The comments relating to the proposal between Rowde and St. Edith’s Marsh were resolved via a previous Cabinet Member Decision – reference HT-038-11 Speed Limit Review – Rowde.
Copies of the proposals were distributed to Wiltshire Police and the locally elected Wiltshire Council Member.
The introduction of any Traffic Regulation Order requires a statutory process which allows comments, either in support or objection to the proposal, to be received. During this period five correspondents outlined objection, three correspondents outlined support and one letter of general comment has been received from members of the public.
