The Board received updates from the following partners:

It was stated that crime rates as a whole were trending downward in the area, especially antisocial behaviour. Wiltshire was named as one of the safest counties in the UK. However, keyless car burglaries were noted as an area of concern, with attendees urged to safeguard against this and raise awareness. Fraud was also becoming a large concern with the public reminded to question everything including texts and emails.

You asked me to forward to you details of how to report a crime (via Wiltshire police web site) and also how concerned members of the public might upload video footage of traffic offences, and I respond accordingly.

2.    If you have video footage of traffic offences – please consider using  ‘Operation Snap’

Operation Snap is a digital portal for members of the pubic to upload CCTV footage (from dashcams/cctv and Go-Pro's as example), but it must show moving footage of traffic offence allegations, not road traffic collisions (RTCs)

For each submission, an email is sent out acknowledging footage and informing there will only be future contact if required for court. 

So far in 2024 in Wiltshire there have been: 

·       47 prosecutions

·       106 courses offered

·       60 warning letters sent out,

• Ludgershall Town Council

Issues relating to a planning application on castledown business park to scrap cars was highlighted. Events for Christmas lights and Remembrance Sunday were upcoming.

• Tidworth Town Council

Significant flooding issues recently meant the Town Council were looking into the possibility of conducting a pipework survey. Yellow lines on Station Road had now been painted with other roads in the consultation stage. New Speed Indication Devices had been effective in reducing speeding. An open air cinema event was described as a success with Remembrance Sunday coming up along with a Christmas fair.

• The local Health and Wellbeing Board had a successful meeting which AGE UK attended

There were no other updates of significance to report.

To receive an update on the work by the Board to set up a Youth Provision in the area.

The Board received an update from the Strategic Engagement Partnership Manager (SEPM) Graeme Morrison, on the progress on work by the Board to set up a youth provision in the area.

It was clarified that this project would include qualified youth workers who would engage with youths who are unable or unwilling to engage with other local initiatives.

The main issue was described as finding a provider for this service; however, Graeme was confident that a more positive update could be provided at the next meeting of Tidworth AB.

The Board was updated on its budget, and the following grant applications were considered:

St James Bellringers applied for £5000 towards Church bells maintenance.

To award St James Bellringers £5000 towards church bells maintenance.

The Castle Practise applied for £2100 towards Dollys Carers Café

It was clarified that the grant application was being considered by the assessment panel and would need their approval before the Board could officially resolve to support it.

To award The Castle Practise a reduced amount of £1257 towards Dollys Carers Café, subject to the Grant Assessment Panel’s approval.

Castledown Bowls Club applied for £1200 towards an end of season winter bowls green project

Proposed by Cllr Tony Pickernell and Seconded by Cllr Christopher Williams it was:

To award Castledown Bowls Club £1200 towards an end of season winter bowls green project

To consider any recommendations made at the most recent meeting of the Local Highway and Footway Improvement Group on 2 October 2024.

The most recent meeting on 2 October 2024 had no recommendations for the Board to consider, with the minutes not available in time.

Any other items of business which the Chairman agrees to consider as a matter of urgency.
