Safeguarding Children and Young People Panel
Purpose of committee
The Safeguarding Panel is a key mechanism by which councillors and officers can ensure that children and young people are safe by:
• Protecting children from maltreatment;
• Preventing impairment of children’s health or development;
• Ensuring children are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care; and
• Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.
