Issue details

The Council is selling the former Middlefields site at Hungerdown Lane Chippenham on the open market. Potential purchasers have been asked to submit 2 bids: 1) for the entire site, 2) for part of the site, leaving a suitable area for the construction of a care home by Orders St. John (OSJ) as a replacement for Seymour House, Chippenham. OSJ will be asked if they are prepared to acquire the remainder of the site for the difference between the highest deliverable bid for the entire site (bid 1) compared to that for part of the site (bid 2). If OSJ agree to do so, Members will be asked whether they want to proceed with a disposal on the basis of bid 1 or bid 2 basis.
