DECISION MADE

Following consultation with officers I give notice that I have made the decision set out in the attached report.

This decision was published on 21 March 2017 and will come into force on 29 March 2017.

Reasons for the decision:

To secure the provision of the play areas for the residents of Wiltshire and promote the principle of local provision of services at a local level.

Alternative options considered:

Not grant of leases to Town and Parish Councils, but this will result in lack of maintenance of play equipment with the closure of a number of play areas due to budget pressures resulting in an inability to fund essential safety repairs to the equipment and surfaces.

Other reasons / organisations consulted

Finance officers, Legal officers, Head of Highways and Streetscene, Associate Director for Highways & Transport and Cabinet Member for Highways & Transport have been consulted prior to making this decision.
