I approve that:

 

(i) The proposals be implemented as advertised.

 

(ii) The objectors be advised accordingly.

 

This decision was published on 7 April 2021 and will come into force on 15 April 2021.

Reasons for the decision:

The proposal is intended to improve traffic conditions by reducing the speed limit to 20 mph at appropriate locations and provide a positive impact on road safety. The proposals will also be in accordance with both Priority 2 and Priority 4 of the Council’s Business Plan.  Malmesbury Town Council has requested that the Order is implemented.

Alternative options considered:

(i)               Implement the advertised changes.

 

(ii)              Abandon the proposals and to retain the existing restriction.

The consultation ended on 7 December 2020.

 

During the consultation period a total of sevencomments were received.

 

The proposal has been developed following prioritisation by the Malmesbury Area Board.
