Minutes:
Councillor Toby Sturgis, Cabinet Member for
Waste, presented the report which advised Cabinet
of the opinion sought from Counsel on the proposal to extend the
contract with Hills Waste Solutions for the Provision of Waste
Recycling and Disposal Services until 31 July 2017. Cabinet was
also; asked to delegate authority to the Associate Director Waste
and Environment in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Waste
and the Associate Director Legal and Governance to extend the
contract with Hills Waste Solutions for the Provision of Waste
Recycling and Disposal Services until 31 July 2017.
Resolved
That Cabinet delegates authority to the Associate Director Waste and Environment in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Waste and the Associate Director Legal and Governance to extend the Contract for the Provision of Waste Recycling and Disposal Services with Hills Waste Solutions until 31 July 2017.
Reason for Decision:
To enable the Council to maintain service delivery for residents, to comply with its statutory duties to collect and dispose of waste and to continue to progress towards achieving statutory targets until new contracts commence on 1 August 2017.
