Corsham Band plays

Minutes:

The Corsham entertained the Area Board prior to the meeting. The band had previously received Area Board grant funding.

Special presentation to Annie Hogg

Minutes:

A short presentation was held for Annie Hogg who was 6 years old and had organised a litter pick as part of the Wiltshire Council’s Big Spring Clean.

Corsham Road Surfacing Programme 2018/19

 

To provide information on the progress made in improving the condition of the county’s roads, and advise on the road surfacing schemes to be undertaken in 2018/19

The Chairman welcomed everybody to the Springfield Campus and thanked the Corsham Band for their musical entertainment prior to the meeting.

 

·         That the minutes of the meeting held on Wednesday 17 January 2018 were agreed as the correct record.

 

·         Apologies were received from Cllr Ben Anderson – Wiltshire Council.

 

·         Declarations of Interest – Cllr Phil Whalley, member of the Pound Arts governing body (Pound Arts grant application).

 

 

The CATG meeting notes dated Wednesday 7 March 2018 were agreed as the correct record.

 

The recommendation for the proposed Corsham highways maintenance schemes be adopted was agreed.

Review of the year (Apr 2017 – Mar 2018)

Minutes:

Cllr Phil Whalley introduced the Corsham Area Board review of the year.

 

A power point presentation was used, giving local groups and grant recipients the opportunity to explain how the Area Board had helped their group or organisation during 2017/18.

Grant Funding

The Wiltshire Councillors will consider the following applications for grant funding:

 

Community Area Grants

 

·         Corsham Cricket Club requesting £2,291 towards trailer, de-thatcher and rotary mower

 

·         Corsham Cycling Club requesting £1,000 towards two bikes and kit to loan to people interested in taking up cycling

 

·         Pound Arts requesting £5,000 towards improving their centre

 

 

Councillor Initiative

 

·         Cllr Philip Whalley requesting £2,000 for additional CCTV cameras at Springfield Campus to cover the ground floor areas

 

·         Cllr Philip Whalley requesting that the £1,500 digital literacy money carried over from 2016/17 be put towards the Wiltshire Heritage Walks Project

 

 

Youth Funding

 

·         Pound Arts requesting £3,170 for the Take Over Project

 

·         Make believe Arts requesting £1,704 for the Make believe Arts Project

 

 

Health and Wellbeing Funding

 

·         Carer Support Wiltshire requesting £2,970 towards reaching lonely and isolated carers and residents

 

·         Bradford Music Centre requesting £1,500 towards the Celebrating Age project for 2018/19

 

·         The remaining H&WB funding and the remaining Capital Grants funding to go towards match funding for a digital app to help the surgery and all H&WB partners link support to patients

Delegated Decisions

 

Great British Spring Clean – Expenditure was made under delegated authority of £342.38 for litter picking equipment. This could be borrowed by any group in the area wishing to undertake a litter pick

 

Restored Mining Trolley – Expenditure was made under delegated authority of £286.91 for the plaque and a 50% contribution towards the celebration event of it being unveiled.

It was noted that Corsham would be soon be receiving it’s first Syrian family. Further details would be made available.
