Appointment of a Representative to the LHFIG The Local Highways and Footpath Improvement Group (LHFIG) operates as an informal working group making recommendations to the Area Board for approval. Terms of Reference are set out in the attached document for information.
The Area Board are invited to appoint a Lead Councillor to the LHFIG.
Supporting documents: Minutes: The Chairman introduced the item and invited Councillor Ricky Rogers to comment on the appointment process of the LHFIG representative.
Councillor Rogers noted that in previous years he felt that it had been better when a representative remained in role for a period of 4 years, rather than to be replaced each year.
The Board noted the Terms of Reference of the LHFIG which set out the Lead Representative was an annual appointment and that all Area Boards must therefore reappoint to the position each year.
Councillor Brian Dalton noted that the budget available to all LHFIG’s for 2025/26 was currently half of the previous year’s allocation. The Board noted that this was due to half of the funding stream not having been confirmed at present. The Board agreed to seek further information on budget allocations ahead of the next meeting on 3 July 2025 and report back with an update to confirm the funding situation.
Councillor Ricky Rogers moved the motion to appoint Councillor Brian Dalton as lead member for LHFIG for 2025/26.
This was seconded by Councillor Alan Bayliss.
As there were no other nominations, it was;
Resolved:
That Councillor Brian Dalton be appointed as Lead Member for Salisbury LHFIG for 2025/26. |
