There is a large number of children in the Larkhill garrison area who attend Stonehenge secondary School in Amesbury. They must pay £81 every 30 days in bus fares, or their parents must use private vehicles everyday. This means an average cost of £729 per child a year just to get to school. If the parents elect to use their own vehicles then this further adds to the traffic on the roads and around the estates near the schools. A free bus pass for such a short trip would solve both of these problems especially as the buses are usually empty around the school run times.
