To consider the comments received following the formal advertisement of a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO), relating to the introduction of a 20 mph speed limit on various roads within Burbage as listed below and to recommend an appropriate way forward.

Consultation process

Consultation has been undertaken with:

 

·         Burbage Parish Council through the Community Area Transport Group and Area Board.

 

·         The elected Wiltshire Council Member representing Burbage and The Bedwyns through the statutory TRO consultation process.

 

·         Members of the public through the statutory TRO consultation process.

 

·         Emergency services through the statutory TRO consultation process.

 

The proposal was subject to formal advertisement between 9 May and 3 June 2019.  During the advertisement period a total of nine items of comment were received, of which four were objections.  This report considers the comments made in relation to the proposed speed limit changes.

 

Options Considered

 

To:

 

(i)            Implement the 20 mph speed limit across all roads advertised in Burbage.

 

(ii)           Implement a revised 20 mph limit. 

 

(iii)          Abandon the proposals.
