    Recommendation for the Exclusion of Public and Press



    Recommendation:


    That under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 the public including the press be excluded from the meeting during this item of business as it is likely, in the view of the nature of the business to be transacted or the nature of the proceedings, that if members of the public and press were present during the item there would be disclosure to them of exempt information, as defined in paragraph 5 of Schedule 12A to the said Act and the public interest in withholding the information outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information to the public.

    Paragraph 5 refers to “Information in respect of which a claim to legal professional privilege could be maintained in legal proceedings”.
