HT-06-16 - Made Waiting Restrictions Quakers Road, Devizes

Decision Maker: Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

To consider a single objection to the proposed “no waiting at any time” restrictions on Quakers Road and Keepers Road, Devizes, submitted to the Council by Mrs Hannah Leigh, 19 Quakers Road, Devizes.

Decision:

I approve that the proposals be Implement as advertised.

This decision was published on the 18 February 2016 and will come in to force on the 26 February 2016.

Reasons for the decision:

Inconsiderate parking in the vicinity of the school is having a continued detrimental effect on the amenity and safety of the users of the highway, both vehicular and pedestrian (especially that of children).  Supported by a safety audit it has been decided to promote the introduction of on-street waiting restrictions on specific lengths of Quakers Road and Keepers Road. The introduction of the waiting restrictions will help to ensure safety and amenity is protected.

Alternative options considered:

(i)         Implement the proposals as advertised.

(ii)        Not implement the proposals.

(iii)       Implement the proposals with amendments.
