Purpose:

To consider the comment received following the formal advertisement of speed limit changes on the C228 and various UC roads in the village of Marston, and to recommend an appropriate way forward.

Decision:

I approve that:

 

(i)         The proposals be implemented as advertised.

 

(ii)        The objectors be informed accordingly.

 

 

This decision was published on  8 April 2016  and will come into force on  18 April 2016.

Reasons for the decision:

The proposals have been assessed in accordance with the guidance provided by the Department for Transport, Circular 01/13 ‘Setting Local Speed Limits’.

(i)              Implement the advertised changes.

 

(ii)             Amend the advertised changes in accordance with the comments made.

 

Other reasons / organisations consulted

A plan outlining the extent of the proposal was provided to Marston Parish Council for its information and consideration. During the advertisement period for the Traffic Regulation Order, one letter of comment has been received, which welcomed the proposal for a 30 mph restriction, but queried the intention to introduce the 40 mph restriction.  No comment was received from the affected Wiltshire Council Member.
