To consider comments received in relation to proposals to amend The County Of Wiltshire (Chippenham And Chippenham Without) (Prohibition And Restriction Of Waiting, Taxi Rank Clearways And On Street Parking) Consolidation Order 2009 (Amendment No. 5) Order 2016 to introduce new and amend existing waiting restrictions at various locations within the Frogwell area of Chippenham.

I approveto proceed with the proposal as advertised with the addition of driveway protection markings at Nos. 43 and 45 Frogwell.

This decision was published on 10 March 2017 and will come into force on 20 March 2017

The proposed restrictions in the Frogwell area are considered to retain a balance between keeping the roads clear whilst retaining some parking availability where it would not interfere with through traffic movements.  Whilst there is an overall loss of parking availability on Frogwell, and a potential for displaced parking into adjacent side roads, the majority of comments received from residents indicates support for the Council’s proposals.

To:

(i)         Implement the proposals as advertised.

(ii)        Amend the proposals in consideration of the comments received.

(iii)       Abandon the proposals.

During the advertisement period a total of 30 items of correspondence have been received in response to the proposals contained within the advertised Traffic Regulation Order (TRO). Of the 30 items of correspondence received, 25 expressed support for the Council’s proposals, 6 objected with 8 matters of further comment being made.
