Decision details

HTW-42-18: Ludgeshall, Tidworth and Collingbourne Ducis - Weight Limit and Speed Limits

Decision Maker: Cabinet Member for Transport, Street Scene and Flooding

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

To consider one objection and to note ten representations of support to the proposed speed limits and weight restrictions in Tidworth, Ludgershall and Collingbourne Ducis (see Appendix 2).

Decision:

I approve that the proposals be implemented as advertised.

This decision was published on 12 November 2018 and will come into force on 20 November 2018.

Reasons for the decision:

The 40 mph speed limit on the new link road meets the statutory guidance for the design of road that has limited estate road accesses and no direct property frontages.

The introduction of various weight restrictions will provide long needed relief from HGVs to residents in Butt Street and reduce severance in the High Street, Ludgershall.

Alternative options considered:

To:

(i)       Implement the proposals as advertised.

(ii)      Not implement the proposals.

(iii)      Implement the proposals with amendments.

Other reasons / organisations consulted
