Decision status: Recommendations Approved (subject to call-in)
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: Yes
To:
(i) Consider the comments received following the formal advertisement of two Experimental Traffic Regulation Orders (ETROs hereafter) in Salisbury.
(ii) Recommend the introduction of the ETROs as advertised on a permanent basis.
I approve that:
(i) The amendments in Butcher Row, Fish Row and Silver Street be introduced on a permanent basis.
(ii) Correspondents be informed accordingly.
This decision was published on 19.11.18 and will come into force on 27.11.18
The proposals support the Council’s aim of making Salisbury City Centre more pedestrian friendly. Whilst the concerns raised by Pritchetts are acknowledged the ready availability of alternative loading and unloading facilities in close proximity is considered to mean that only a minor change to the operation of the business is required.
The proposals are in accordance with Priorities 1, 2 and 4 of the Council’s Business Plan.
To:
(i) Continue with the ETROs in Butcher Row, Fish Row and Silver Street on an experimental basis.
(ii) Introduce the amendments in Butcher Row, Fish Row and Silver Street on a permanent basis.
(iii) Revert back to the restrictions in place in in Butcher Row, Fish Row and Silver Street prior to the introduction of the ETRO.
