I approve that:
(i) The proposal be implemented as advertised.
(ii) The objectors be informed accordingly.
This decision wsa published on 23 August 2019 and will come into force on 3 September 2019.
The proposed 20 mph limit is intended to improve actual and perceived road and pedestrian safety, encouraging greater uptake of walking and cycling. The proposed limit meets the criteria set by Wiltshire Council policy and the guidance given by the Department for Transport.
The proposals will also be in accordance with both Priority 2 and Priority 4 of the Council’s Business Plan.
To:
(i) Implement the 20 mph speed limit across all roads advertised in Burbage.
(ii) Implement a revised 20 mph limit.
(iii) Abandon the proposals.

Consultation has been undertaken with:
· Burbage Parish Council through the Community Area Transport Group and Area Board.
· The elected Wiltshire Council Member representing Burbage and The Bedwyns through the statutory TRO consultation process.
· Members of the public through the statutory TRO consultation process.
· Emergency services through the statutory TRO consultation process.
The proposal was subject to formal advertisement between 9 May and 3 June 2019. During the advertisement period a total of nine items of comment were received, of which four were objections. This report considers the comments made in relation to the proposed speed limit changes.
Options Considered
To:
(i) Implement the 20 mph speed limit across all roads advertised in Burbage.
(ii) Implement a revised 20 mph limit.
(iii) Abandon the proposals.
