HTW-01-22: Devizes Proposed Waiting Restrictions

Decision Maker: Cabinet Member for Transport, Street Scene and Flooding

Decision status: Recommendations Approved (subject to call-in)

Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

To:

(i)             Consider objections to the advertised proposals for parking controls at various locations within the Devizes Town Order.

(ii)            Recommend the making of the Traffic Regulation Order with minor amendments to the advertised proposals.

Decision:

DECISION MADE

            I approve that:

(i)             The restrictions be implemented as advertised, subject to the amendments detailed in Appendix 3.

(ii)            The correspondents be informed accordingly.

This decision was published on 2 February 2022 and will come into force on 10 February 2022.

Reasons for the decision:

The comments set out in Appendix 2 on the various objections received indicate that it is considered appropriate to introduce the scheme as advertised for Avon Terrace. With regard to the proposal for Colston Road, in light of the comments received further consideration has been given to the extent of No Waiting At Any Time Restriction and the impact upon residents. It is therefore recommended that the original proposal be amended to not proceed with the restrictions, except for its junction with Avon Terrace. A copy of the revised proposal is available in Appendix 3.

Alternative options considered:

To:

(i)         Implement the proposals as advertised.

(ii)        Not implement the proposals.

(iii)       Implement the proposals with amendments.
