1. The purpose of this report is to seek a decision from Cllr Mayes to approve the awarding of the section 31 grant funding apportioned to Wiltshire Council to the recipients listed below for delivery of Multiply Programme interventions.
2. These interventions have been selected and proposed from a menu provided by the Department for Education as part of its Multiply Prospectus, published in April 2022.
3. The report seeks approval of awards of the following amounts:
v Wiltshire College £51,000
v SEETEC Plus £82,800
v Citizens Advice Wiltshire £25,658
v The National Numeracy Trust £51, 268
The total grants amount to £210,726
DECISION MADE
Following consultation,I givenotice thatI havemade thedecision setout inthe attached report.
This decisionwas publishedon 8 December 2022and willcome intoforce on17 December 2022.
A range of stakeholders have been engaged, the interventions vary from outreach to classroom-based courses, there is robust monitoring and outcomes focussed oversight from the Department for Education for the duration of the programme.
The options considered provide a broad and balanced approach to delivering outreach and accredited interventions from the menu on offer. They include a range of delivery mechanisms and seek to engage as many residents as possible to progress their numeracy confidence to; engage in further learning, progress in their job roles, support family members with budgeting and cost of living and improve numeracy skills in general.
Other reasons / organisations consulted
In May 2022, Employment and Skills officers engaged with stakeholders and invited expressions of interest to deliver the Multiply interventions. Subsequent further engagement took place and interventions discussed and defined.
