To propose amendments to the composition of Schools Forum, to meet new requirements under the Schools Forum (England) Regulations 2010 (Statutory Instrument No 344/2010).

Following consultation with officers I give notice that I intend to determine that the revised constitution and terms of reference for the Wiltshire Schools Forum be adopted with immediate effect, as set out in the attached report and appendices, noting that a single Academy representative will sought for the Schools Forum, as a full voting member, and secondly a 14-19 representative will also be appointed as a full voting member of the Forum.

The decision was published on the 8^th September, and will not come into effect until the 16^th September, 2010.

To provide an appropriate basis for the Wiltshire Schools Forum to be re-constituted and to undertake its duties, in line with the needs of the authority with the statutory requirements

The Schools Forum (England) Regulations 2010 (Statutory Instrument No 344/2010) revokes and replaces the Schools Forum (England) Regulations (2002), as amended, with the changes principally relating to the membership of Schools Forums. The local authority must provide positions for at least one member to represent any Academy schools in the area and one local 14-19 representative. Both of these positions have voting rights.

This decision is required by law. The decision set out below reflects the proposals agreed and minuted by the members of the Schools Forum on 24 June 2010, as outlined in the attached minutes and report.
