This report sets out the background to, and results of, consultation undertaken between 7 February and 7 March.  It recommends that the Local Authority publishes statutory proposals to close the school from 31 August 2011.

(i)            publish statutory proposals to close Grafton Church of England Primary School on 31 August 2011;

(ii)          allocate the school’s current catchment area to Great Bedwyn Church of England Primary School.

The decline in pupil numbers at the school means that it is not possible to maintain the provision of high quality education at the school.

The consultation document was circulated to:

·         Parents of children not yet of school age in the designated area of the school

·         The County Secretaries of the relevant unions
