Purpose:
To introduce the government’s new scheme for supporting small and medium sized retailers through the award of retail rate relief, to be implemented from 1st April 2014.
Decision:
Following consultation with officers I give notice that I intend to make the decision set out in the attached report. If you would like to make any representations to me on this issue please do so by 27 March 2014.
Reasons for the decision:
The new scheme is a national government scheme, which will be in place for two years and fully funded by government. The report raises awareness of the scheme and sets out the process that will be used to administer the scheme from April 2014.
