Decision details

To:

(i)            Consider objections to the advertised proposals for parking controls at various locations in Calne and Calne Without.

(ii)          Recommend the making of the Traffic Regulation Order with amendments to the advertised proposals.

I approve that:

(i)            The restrictions be implemented as advertised, subject to the minor amendments detailed in Appendices 2 and 3.

(ii)          The objectors be informed accordingly.

This decision was published on 11 July 2014 and will come into force on 19 July 2014.            

The comments set out in Appendix 1 on the various objections received indicate that it is considered appropriate to introduce the scheme with the minor amendments detailed in Appendices 2 and 3. 

To:

(i)         Implement the proposals as advertised.

(ii)        Not implement the proposals.

(iii)       Implement the proposals with amendments.

Calne Town Council was consulted as part of the advertisement process for the proposals and the recommendations have been discussed with the Wiltshire Councillors for Calne and Calne Without.

As a result of the public advertisement, 78 letters of representation were received. There were 20 comments of support and 58 of objection, including 1 petition signed by 247 individuals. These are listed in Appendix 1, together with a summary of their comments and officer comments on the points raised.
