To consider the comments received following the formal advertisement of a proposed reduction of existing speed limits on the A342 & A3102 in the parishes of Bromham and Calne Without, to include the following roads and to recommend an appropriate way forward.

·       A342 Devizes Road, Bromham

·       A3102 Bromham and Calne Without

Following consultation with officers I give notice that I intend to make the decision set out in the attached report.  If you would like to make any representations to me on this issue, please do so by Wednesday 2 April 2025.

Alterations to the speed limits on A342 is proposed in response to concerns raised by the Devizes LHFIG on behalf of Bromham Parish Council and the local community.  Alongside the ongoing safety improvements on the A3102 including a speed limit reduction. An assessment has been completed in accordance with the relevant Department for Transport Guidance and the proposals meet the expectation of this.

To:

(i)             Implement the proposals as advertised.

(ii)            Implement the proposals as advertised with amendments.

(iii)          To abandon the proposals.

During the advertisement period six items of correspondence have been received in response to the proposals contained within the advertised TRO.

Bromham and Rowde Parish Council, (Rowde being the neighbouring Parish) indicated their support of this proposal through the Devizes LHFIG meetings.

Calne Without Parish Council submitted formal comments of support during the consultation period.
