To propose changes to the Schools Forum membership and update the Terms of Reference, to meet requirements under the Schools Forum (England) Regulations 2012 (Statutory Instrument No. 2261/2012)
To provide an appropriate basis for the Wiltshire Schools Forum to be re-constituted and to undertake its duties, in line with the needs of the authority with the statutory requirements
The Schools Forum (England) Regulations 2012 (Statutory Instrument No 2261/2012) revokes and replaces the Schools Forum (England) Regulations 2010 (Statutory Instrument No 344/2010) as amended, with the changes principally relating to the membership of Schools Forums. The local authority must ensure that Schools and Academies have broadly proportionate representation according to pupil numbers and where a local authority has at least one maintained secondary school at least one schools member must be a representative of a secondary school.

Following consultation with officers I give notice that I intend to determine that the revised membership and terms of reference for the Wiltshire Schools Forum be adopted with immediate effect, as set out in the attached report and appendices, noting the requirement for Schools and Academies to have broadly representative representation according to pupil numbers in each category, requiring at least one schools member to be a representative of a secondary school where a local authority has at least one maintained secondary school and noting the need for the Forum to hold public meetings.
