69 Local Highways and Footways Improvement Group (LHFIG)

To note the minutes and consider any recommendations arising from the last LHFIG meeting held on 23 January 2024, as set out in the attached report.

Cllr Dominic Muns introduced the minutes and recommendations from the LHFIG meeting held on 23 January 2023. It was outlined that all 12 “High Priority” schemes were progressing well, and guidance had been provided to parish groups and other groups on initiatives available to help them.

 

After which, it was;

 

Resolved:

 

1.    Devizes Area Board agreed to note the discussions from the LHFIG meeting of 23 January 2024.

2.    Devizes Area Board confirmed the progress of the High Priority schemes agreed by LHFIG.

3.    Devizes Area Board thanked the parish councils that attend the Group, bring local residents’ concerns and engage in interesting and constructive discussion.


Meeting: 06/12/2023 - Melksham Area Board (Item 51)

51 Local Highway and Footway Improvement Group (LHFIG)

To consider the following recommendations from the LHFIG meeting from 2 November 2023:

 

·       To add the following Issues to the Priority Schemes List with funding:

 

o   Issue 9-23-9  Speeding traffic on A365 Shaw and Whitley Corsham Road – SLOW road markings (£300 - 100% LHFIG )

 

o   Issue 9-23-12 Steeple Ashton, Sandpits Lane - signs / road markings (£1077.14 -  100% LHFIG funded)

 

o   Issue 9-23-14  Steeple Ashton Common Hill / Newleaze – request for pedestrian barrier at exit of children’s play area (£1,800.00 – 75% LHFIG, 25% PC)

 

o   Issue 9-23-15 Halifax Road Bowerhill ‘H’ Bar Marking request (£300 – 100% LHFIG)

 

o   Issue 9-23-16 Magister Road, Bowerhill Request for ‘Children at play sign’ (£100 – 100% LHFIG)

 

·       To add the following Issues to the Priority Schemes List without funding at this time:

 

o   Issue 9-23-17 RTPI at Mitchell Drive, Bowerhill Estate, Market Place Melksham x 2

The Committee then considered the recommendations arising from the Melksham LHFIG meeting from 2 November 2023 as included in the agenda pack.

 

Councillor Sankey moved to approve the LHFIG’s funding recommendations and was seconded by Councillor Oatley.

 

Resolved:

 

To approve the recommendations from the LHFIG meeting on 2 November 2023.


Meeting: 12/09/2023 - Melksham Area Board (Item 38)

38 Local Highway and Footway Improvement Group (LHFIG)

To consider the recommendations from the LHFIG meeting from 3 August 2023:

 

1) To close the following Issues:

·       9-22-1 Melksham Lighting off Hazelwood Road

·       9-22-6 Melksham Signing to Sandridge Farm

 

2) To add the following Issue to the Priority Schemes List with funding:

·       9-22-21 Melksham Snarlton Lane Crossing Point (£1,454.58).

 

3) To add the following Issue to the Priority Schemes List without funding:

·       9-23-13 Steeple Ashton Sandpits Lane pedestrian access to playing field

The Vice-Chairman paid tribute to the former Melksham Without Parish Councillor, Don Millard, who had sadly passed away.

 

On the proposal of the Vice-Chairman, seconded by Cllr Jack Oatley, it was resolved to make the:

 

Decision

 

1)    To close the following Issues:
