School Transport Appeal

To consider and determine a school transport appeal.

Minutes:

The panel heard representations and replies from the Transport Officer and the appellant and asked questions of the parties involved. After which, the following decision was made:

The Panel accepted the Officer’s report; however, the Panel chose to exercise their discretion to depart from the policy in order to provide a permanent, free of cost seat on the bus from Dinton to Sarum Academy for the duration of the Child’s attendance at Sarum Academy.

The Panel agreed that the council would not be responsible for free home to school transport to Sarum Academy but exercised their discretion to provide a free cost seat whilst the current route is in place.

The Panel also agreed that it would be the parental responsibility to take the Child to the bus stop in Dinton.

This decision is enacted from 21 October 2024.
