CCG update

Jo Cullen - Director of Primary and Urgent Care, Wiltshire CCG and Christine Williams – The Castle Practice, Tidworth & Ludgershall          

Minutes:

Jo Cullen - Director of Primary and Urgent Care for Wiltshire CCG outlined recent changes at the Cross Plains Surgery in Tidworth.

Points made included:

 

·         That the Cross Plain Health Centre had faced considerable staffing challenges over recent months which had resulted in the decision to stop providing general practice services from the Tidworth branch from 19 July 2019.

 

·         The challenges of trying to recruit GPs in the local area.

 

·         That the CCG was working with the Castle Practice and other local general practices to re-register patients.

 

The concerns of the Area Board members and local residents were noted by the CCG.

 

It was agreed that Jo Cullen would be invited to the September Area Board meeting to give a further update.

Points made included:

 

·         That the Steering Group had recently met in Collingbourne Kingston for it’s second meeting.

 

·         That the group continued to gain momentum.

 

·         Next meeting planned for Wednesday 2 October in Ludgershall.

Army Rebasing - update

Community Engagement Manager Update

Richard Rogers – Community Engagement Manager

Minutes:

Richard Rogers – Community Area Manager.

 

Points made included:

 

Minor changes to grants system from September

 

·         H & WB and LYN projects over £1,000 require match funding as the norm – coming into line with capital projects. – Some commissioning projects may be excluded.

 

·         Commercial and statutory organisations can access funding but only when they are demonstrating community benefit e.g. apprenticeship project with Garage.

 

·         We will remove the maximum of applying to 3 Area Boards approach – to allow role out of successful projects.

 

·         In all cases the elected members can, when there is good reason, override this criteria.

 

 

·         Dementia Action Alliance – next meeting to be held in September.

 

·         Youth network – next meeting to be arranged in the autumn.

 

·         Armed Forces Weekend – Tapestry, incorporated the Tidworth War Memorial, Tidworth Town Crest and the Fusilier Hackle

·         Continued issues re Army rebasing and the lack of local dental practices.

·         Lots of good things going on with local school pupils providing entertainment for café users.

 

 

Older Person & Carers Champion Tony Pickernell

 

·         The importance of ensuring that older people get re-registered with a new GP after the Cross Plains issue.

 

·         That the Link Service was still looking for volunteer drivers.

 

 

Multi Faith Group – Lt Col Nick Turner

 

·         That Lt Col Turner was working with Rev Tim Laundon on various local issues.

 

·         Ongoing work to improve links with the Garrison and local schools

·         That the first phase of the new church digital system had been carried out – it was planned to put the data on to database on the church website.
