The Chairman welcomed everybody to St Laurence School for the Area Board meeting.

 

Liam Cripps was introduced as the new Strategic Engagement and Partnerships Manager for the Bradford on Avon Area Board.

·         Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service presented the latest video update at their recent Authority meeting.  This edition summarised some of the notable incidents that the service had attended, and the good work being achieved across the Service in the last three months.

Wiltshire Police - Inspector Andy Lemon advised that he was the new Inspector of the local policing team.

Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service - Andrew Laskey advised that he was the new Bradford on Avon Station Manager.

 

Points made included:

 

  • That during the recent periods of hot weather a series of wild fires had occurred which local teams had responded to. That moving forward the public needed better awareness of using both disposable and garden BBQs during the Summer period.

 

  • That a number of new recruits had now joined the team at Bradford on Avon Fire Station.

 

  • That Safe and Well checks continued to be carried by Fire and Rescue Teams across the county.

 

·         That four new off road appliances were being rolled out across the county to help bolster the service’s off road capabilities.

·         That the notes of the Bradford on Avon Local Highways and Footpath Improvement Group held on the 25 July were agreed.

 

·         Health and Wellbeing – that Dementia Action Alliance would be starting a “Tea with Pony” scheme with the first meeting on Friday 30 September.

 

·         Local Youth Network – that a meeting with local groups was planned before the next Area Board on Wednesday 2 November.
