Introduction to Nelson Training · No overheads/PowerPoint, · No long boring lectures, · No one is ever ‘put on the spot’ or asked to do embarrassing role-play · Just add a touch of comedy to make the time go quick and make the whole experience enjoyable

Objectives By the end of the workshop participants will: · Have explored the demography of Wiltshire, their wards, and how it might affect upon their work as elected members and the concept of ‘fairness’. · Have updated themselves briefly on the legal framework and in particular the new Equalities Act 2010. · Have explored issues of homelessness and unemployment, myths, stats, facts, and perceptions...and...What does it all mean to us as elected members here in Wiltshire? · Have explored issues surrounding and supporting the unemployed; the realities and the scare stories, and again, how can we help as elected members? · Have discussed and explored issues of travellers and community safety ...who is at risk in reality and ...what can we do? What is our responsibility as a council?
