Minutes:

The Board considered community Funding bids as detailed in the report attached to the agenda.

 

Remaining Budgets available at this meeting were:

·       Community Area Grant - £24,810.16

·       Youth - £14,962.00

·       Health & Wellbeing - £1,004.18

 

The Chairman reminded everyone that due to a delay of one day in publishing the agenda online, any funding decisions taken by the Board would be held over for 24 hrs to allow for the full 5 days for any public comments, in line with the constitution. Decisions would then be cleared under the delegated powers of the CEM, in consultation with the Chairman on Friday 22 January 2021.

 

 

Community Area Grants

 

ArtCare requested £2500 towards the Well-being TV project at Salisbury District Hospital (SDH).

Rebecca Seymore spoke in support of the application.  

 

Decision

ArtCare was awarded £2,500 towards the Well-being TV project at SDH.

Reason – The application met the Community Area Grants Criteria 2020/21.

 

The Bridge Youth Project requested £700 towards an online mentoring programme.

Mel spoke in support of the application, noting that the actual amount needed was £850, and not the figure quoted on the application.

 

Cllr Rogers suggested that in addition, the applicant may wish to contact the Rose Gale Trust as it may be able to provide some level of future support terms of laptops.

 

Decision

The Bridge Youth Project was awarded £850 towards an online mentoring project.

Reason – The application met the Community Area Grants Criteria 2020/21.

 

Cllr Hocking put forward an Area Board Initiative for funding to complete the Street Name Plates project. The funding would be for the two remaining wards.

 

Cllr hocking noted that over the last three years the Board had replaced and refurbed 300 street nameplates. The last 2 wards were Harnham, St Marks & Bishopdown. The works would cost approx. £12,000

 

There would be a further tranche, but that would be looked at in the next financial year.

 

There was another list that totalled at approx. £10k however, Cllr Hocking would  wait to see what other community grants came forward for the last meeting of the year and if any funds were remaining he would propose that the balance be allocated to start work on the additional list.

 

Tom Corbin asked that the board consider one piece of work for Cedar close as it had not had a name plate for some months now. He was advised to email the details to Cllr Hocking who agreed to look into it.

 

Decision

The Area Board Initiative – Street Name Plates was awarded £12,000.

Reason – The application met the Community Area Grants Criteria 2020/21.

 

 

Young People Funding

 

Splash (community first) had requested £5000

 

Decision

Splash was awarded £5000 of Youth funding

 

 

Rise 61 had requested £5000

 

Decision

Rise 61 was awarded £5000 of youth funding

 

 

My Salisbury had requested £4991.97

 

Decision

The bid from My Salisbury was deferred until after the pandemic, to enable the project to take place.

 

St Francis Church had requested £1500

 

Decision

St Francis Church was awarded £1500 of Youth Funding
