The purpose of this report is to update the Cabinet Member for Highways, Streetscene and Flooding on the changes resulting from a Statutory Instrument issued by the Government to increase the Fixed Penalty Notices (FPN) amount for fly-tipping, household waste duty of care and littering. This will enable the Cabinet Member to set the amount per FPN to contribute to effective enforcement activity in accordance with the Council’s Business Plan.

To note the new Fixed Penalty amounts (Table 2 of the report) and approve the maximum new fixed penalty notice amounts to be applied (as per Option 1 below).

DECISION MADE

I approve that the new fixed penalty notice amounts (Table 3) are noted and also approve the maximum amounts available for the new fixed penalty notice amounts to be applied.

This decision was published on 15 April 2024 and will come into force on 23 April 2024.           

To:

(i)             Consider objections to the advertised proposals for parking controls at Berryfield Road, Bradford on Avon.

(ii)            Recommend the making of the Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) with minor amendments to the advertised proposal.

(i)             The proposals be implemented as advertised.

(ii)            The objectors be advised accordingly.

              This decision was published on 09 April 2024 and will come into force on 17 April 2024.         

To consider the comments received following the formal advertisement of proposed ‘Prohibition of Motor Vehicles’ and ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ at Devizes Road, Hilperton as part of an active travel scheme for the wider Hilperton area.

I approve that:

(i)       The current proposals be implemented as advertised.

(ii)       The objectors be advised accordingly.

This decision was published on 8 April 2024 and will come into force on 16 April 2024.           

The purpose of this report is to seek a decision from Cllr Mayes to approve awarding of the section 31 grant funding apportioned to Wiltshire Council to the recipients below for delivery of Multiply Programme Interventions.

These interventions have been selected and proposed from a menu provided by the Department for Education as part of its Multiply Prospectus, published in April 2022.

The report seeks approval to award the following amounts:

a.    Skills ladder £ 59,980

b.    Rebel Business school (parent company Enjoy Training Ltd) £66,000

The total grants amount to £125,980
