HSSF-34-24: Proposed prohibition of entry order at Wedhampton, Urchfont Parish

To consider representations made to the advertisement of a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) in relation to a proposed prohibition of entry from Wedhampton High Street to the A342, and to recommend an appropriate way forward.

 

That:

 

(i)            The proposal be implemented as advertised.

 

(ii)           A safety review be undertaken at Lydeway where bridleway URCH23 meets the A342 

 

(iii)          All stakeholders be advised of recommendations.

Consultation has been undertaken with:

 

           The elected Wiltshire Council Member through the statutory TRO consultation process.

           The elected Urchfont Parish Council through the statutory TRO consultation process

           Members of the Devizes Local Highways & Footways Improvement Group (LHFIG)

           Emergency services through the statutory TRO consultation process

           Members of the public through the statutory TRO consultation process

 

The proposed TROs were subject to formal consultation between 4th July 2024 and 29th July 2024. During the consultation period a total of one item of correspondence was received in response to the Council’s proposals. The comments received have been considered as an objection.

 

The proposal has been developed following prioritisation by the Devizes Local Highways & Footway Improvement Group (LHFIG) and endorsement by Devizes Area Board.
