Consultation process
Wiltshire Council has developed a scheme, with the aim to improve local safety along the High Street, near Willis Way.
As part of the scheme development, the views of Purton Parish Council, The Scouts, Royal Wootton Bassett and Cricklade Area Board and Community Area Transport Group were sought.
As part of the formal statutory process, copies of the proposal were distributed to Wiltshire Police, the Wiltshire Council Member and Purton Parish Council.
The formal advertisement of the Traffic Regulation Order for the Zebra Crossing took place between 8 November 2013 and 2 December 2013. The advertisement took the form of press notices, together with site notices, displayed at regular locations within the area of the proposal restriction. On conclusion of the advertisement period seven letters of objection were received, along with two letters of support.
