Consultation process
An Experimental Order was sealed and made under provisions in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and became operational on 5 October 2013.
The Experimental Order had a maximum duration of 18 months during which time Wiltshire Council considered whether the provisions of the Experimental Order should be made permanent in the interests of highway safety.
Objections were accepted within six months of the day the Experimental Order came into force.
During this period one letter of representation was received in objection to the Experimental Order. This is listed in Appendix 1, together with a summary of their comments and officer comments on the points raised.
However, due to unforeseen circumstances the deadline to implement the Order was missed and a new consultation commenced on 28 May 2015 and the previous objector was informed of the new consultation and also that their comments would be carried forward and considered as part of the new process. No objections were received before the deadline of 22 June 2015.
