Consultation process

Consultation

The Chippenham Town Council was consulted as part of the advertisement process for the proposals and the recommendations have been discussed with the Wiltshire Councillors for Chippenham and Chippenham Without.

As a result of the public advertisement, 212 letters of representation were received. There were 188 comments of support and 24 of objection.  A petition letter supporting proposals on Station Road was also received with 132 signatures.

These are listed in Appendix 1 together with a summary of their comments and officer comments on the points raised.

A petition from residents of Langley Road was received outside the time-frame for formal comments to the advertised proposals.  The petition requested the introduction of parking restrictions on the eastern side of Langley Road, citing that inconsiderate parking was causing issues for residents when exiting their driveways, in particular residents off the access to Wade Mews. The proposals hereby considered did include restrictions on the eastern side of Langley Road, and it is considered that they address the concerns raised in the petition.
