FPR-002-10 - Updating the Councils Risk Management Strategy

The risk management strategy is looked at each year to assess whether changes are required.  This year it has been reviewed and updated with minor amendments including:

(i)                  to show that the Lead Portfolio Holder for Finance, Performance and Risk receives regular reports about risk management arrangements and the Council’s significant risks;

(ii)                new titles for officers in the Performance Team, following a restructure of the team and risk management responsibilities, which now provides a more robust coverage of risk management and data quality arrangements; greater flexibility; and a more efficient use of resources;

(iii)               to reflect the setting up of the Resilient Council Group, which now incorporates the Operational Risk Management Group;

(iv)              to clarify the role of the Risk Leads by adding one more point of responsibility;

(v)                to clarify the role of internal audit in managing risks.
