Purpose:

To consider the comments received following the formal advertisement of the proposal to prohibit the right turn for vehicles exiting Bradley Road Retail Park onto Bradley Road, Trowbridge and to agree how to proceed.  In addition, this report will also consider the comments relating to the implementation of a No Waiting at Any Time restriction outside 98 Bradley Road, Trowbridge.

(i)            The prohibition of right turn at Bradley Road Retail Park be implemented and the parking bay outside of 98 Bradley Road be retained as per the plan shown in Appendix 3.

 

(ii)          The objectors be informed accordingly.

 

 

                This decision was published on 18 November 2014 and will come into force on 26 November 2014.              

 

Reasons for the decision:

To improve road safety at the junction of Bradley Road Retail Park and Bradley Road, Trowbridge. 

Alternative options considered:

To:

 

(i)              Implement the review recommendations.

 

(ii)             Retain the existing traffic movements and parking outside 98 Bradley Road.

 

(iii)            Amend the review recommendations in accordance with the comments made.

Other reasons / organisations consulted

The proposals were formally advertised from 15 August to 8 September 2014 in accordance with the requirements for Traffic Regulation Orders. In addition, newsletters were delivered to adjacent properties on Bradley Road informing residents of the proposals and how to comment during the advertisement period.

 

Jones Lang LaSalle, the land agent for the retail park, was also contacted directly to discuss the proposals and inform them of the advertisement period.  The property managers and store managers for both the B&Q and Halfords retail stores were also made aware of the proposal and the advertisement period.
