To agree the transport schemes to be funded in 2018-19 from the Local Transport Plan (LTP) Integrated Transport Block Allocation.
I approve that the proposed funding allocations for integrated transport projects in the county in 2018-19, as outlined in Tables A to D of Appendix 1 of this report, be approved.
This decision was published on 8 June 2018 and will come into force on 18 June 2018.
To ensure that the LTP Integrated Transport Block Allocation is prioritised and targeted towards schemes that meet the Council’s transport policies and goals.
It is proposed that the LTP Integrated Transport Block Allocation be allocated to the
development and delivery of transport schemes that support community aspirations where
these are consistent with the goals, objectives and transport strategies set out in the LTP:
• Local Safety Schemes
• School travel plan improvements
• Projects that support economic growth, promote accessibility and safety, and improve the environment
• Traffic management
No other options have been considered.
Other reasons / organisations consulted
Wiltshire’s third LTP was developed in consultation with local councils, community groups and other stakeholders. The LTP integrated transport programme has subsequently been developed to reflect the aims of LTP3 and the transport aspirations of local people.
Many of the projects recommended for funding in 2018-19 have been identified by the local community through the development of community area plans, area transport strategies, and school travel plans, or through the Area Board’s Community Area Transport Groups, or have been initiated by Swindon and Wiltshire’s Local Enterprise partnership.
