Consultation process
Previously, arrangements for applying for and approving applications for installing festive and Christmas lights in the highway were reviewed, and the views of the Council’s street lighting consultants, highway, legal and insurance teams were sought in developing the proposals which were adopted. The current guidance takes into account the comments received at that time. Information on the processes followed by other authorities, especially in the south-west, has also been considered, together with the relevant codes of practice.
