Purpose:

To consider the comments received following the formal advertisement of the proposed Traffic Regulation Orders associated with the introduction of waiting restrictions in connection with traffic calming / pedestrian facilities for Oxford Road, Calne and to identify an appropriate way forward.

Decision:

I approve that:

 

(i)       The proposal be implemented as advertised.

 

(ii)       The objectors be advised accordingly.

 

 

This decision was published on 14 March 2022 and will come into force on 22 March 2022.           

Reasons for the decision:

The advertisement for ‘No waiting at any time’ is necessary to enable improved facilities for pedestrians.

Alternative options considered:

To:

 

(i) Implement the advertised changes.

 

(ii) Abandon the proposal and retain the existing restriction.

Other reasons / organisations consulted

The consultation ended on 13 December 2021.

 

During the consultation period a total of 1 comment was received. This comment was an objection to the traffic calming / pedestrian crossing build out proposal.

 

The proposal has been developed following prioritisation by the Calne Section 106 working group which includes local Wiltshire and Town Councillors.
